John Anderson, school leader

Mr. Anderson has worked with high school students for over twenty years in and out of the classroom with the last eight years being in school administration. Mr. Anderson taught internationally for several years and is a fluent Spanish speaker.   He earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona and is currently pursuing a second Masters degree from Grand Canyon University. Prior to assuming the school leader role at Maya High School, Mr. Anderson has worked in five area Leona Group high schools.

Steve Ortiz, assistant principal of campus life

Mr. Ortiz has worked with high school students for over 10 years with the last seven years as a school resource officer in Peoria AZ. He earned his Master Degree from Grand Canyon University and is a veteran of the armed forces. Mr. Ortiz is now serving as the Assistant Principal of campus life. ​

Tom Welsh, curriculum coach

Mr. Welsh has worked with high school students for over ten years with the last 9 as a Social Studies Teacher. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS in Social Science and Secondary Education and his Masters Degree from the University of Mary in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. He is now serving as the Curriculum Coach for Maya High School.
