College & Career Preparation

Picture
Maya High School offers a wide range of College Advisement and Assistance. We know that senior year can be a bit overwhelming, but key Maya staff members are here to help you plan for life after high school. As you head for the finish line, make each day count by meeting every deadline and completing every "to-do." From college admission forms to financial aid follow-ups, to managing your class work and attendance, you've got a lot to handle, but we know you can do it!Maya encourages our students to thrive for excellence! We want to see each and every one of our students as successful members of our community. To achieve that goal, we promote post secondary education. Here are a few reasons why a College Education will have long term benefits:

Reason #1: The more education you get, the more likely it is you will always have a job. According to one estimate, by the year 2028 there will be 19 million more jobs for educated workers than there are qualified people to fill them.

Reason #2: Continuing education after high school is much more important for your generation than it was for your parents' generation. Today most good jobs require more than a high school diploma. Businesses want to hire people who know how to think and solve problems.

Reason #3: Education beyond high school gives you a lot of other benefits, including meeting new people, taking part in new opportunities to explore your interests, and experiencing success.
