Extracurricular Activities

Student Participation

Students may participate in extra-curricular activities such as athletics, student council or yearbook. These activities are part of the school program and will function under the policies and guidelines set forth by Maya High School. Any student participating will be suspended from participation in that activity for any of the following reasons: 
  • If a student receives a C or below in class in the given block or the marking period prior. This does not apply to a student with an IEP.
  • Student placed on a behavioral, attendance or academic contract in the given block.
  • A student needs to be in attendance the whole day to attend or participate in an extra-curricular activity.
  • Excessive tardies or absences.
  • Any suspension in the given block.
  • Poor behavior in the classroom.
